Mike Danson will own both the Football and Rugby Clubs, which sounds good to me

But unlike under Whelan, the Warriors will have under Danson's ownership of both clubs, a equal say in the everyday running of the stadium as it should have been at the time the stadium was built!

A priorIty of the new ownership of Danson should be a change in the name of the Stadium from DW and also get rid of all the blue nonsense draped at the front of the West Stand now that it is a true join stadium.

I have always thought that the stadium should have been called 'Robin Park' because you had Central Park and Springfield Park has the former homes of the Rugby and Football, so about having a 'Park' in the name, and in any case: Robin Park is the name of the area.

I suppose in this day and age, the name of the stadium, will belong to the main sponsor of the clubs.

But This fella buying both clubs, really is good news for both clubs, this year Christmas has come early at the DW Stadium

Nothing factual in your post OC,but I sincerely hope you are right
Equal tenancy was the pipe dream last time when we had a one ownership for both clubs...untill we became the lodgers as some latics fans keep reminding me. Although a nice touch on friday was the academy being able to play a curtain raiser, maybe a softening of attitudes
I will, as you have said on a few occasions , reserve judgement

Renaming the stadium is a must in my opinion

Joe Maplin

Why is my comment not factual?

As for the Academy team playing curtain raiser on Friday night, this was from what I can see the new owner of the stadium making it clear to the Latics that they no longer decide on who or what game is played there.

As a former tennis player said, you cannot be serious!

OC unless you are close to Mr Danson or know what he's thinking, the equal use of the stadium or anything else,is just an opinion and not a fact, hence not factual,,not forgetting the blue nonsense could be liked by half the patrons of the DW....again just an opinion
The stadium at the moment remains an asset of wafc, and the warriors are tennants...nothing as yet has changed.Just like under Whelan when he owned both clubs..this a fact

Question to both sets of fans that go to the DW stadium on match days ,
" DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHO OWNS IT OR RENTS IT "???????
The new guy owns them both so what's the aggro ??? as long as both sports are played on or in that ground so what???? G.B.

I'm led to believe there's a covenant on the lease, by the council, who are the landlords, that the stadium is to be used by both clubs. Both rugby and football.

As the owner of the Latics. the stadium is now a asset of Mike Danson!

Maybe so. But it's still under a lease off the council. As such, it's still under any residual covenants contained in that lease.
